Another Triumphal Day for the Seniors

This Wednesday, seniors started off on the right foot again as we strolled into school, or more accurately, hobbled with canes and walkers. Baby powder was everywhere as we hobbled through our classes and peered through other's prescription glasses. Dressed as senior citizens/ boomers, Atticus Prinn and Graham Wilson took first place for best dressed, their outfits complete with baby powdered hair, a fake beard, and of course a walker. In a wild turn of events, seniors came third for most dressed, but I expect everyone to be Teen Beach Movie-afied tomorrow to stay on top. During break, Annie Vinnakota’s piano solo was immaculate and impressed the judges and students alike, making the solo our second first-place win of the day. After school, YHS students gathered in the gym and library to see two very different, but equally fearsome battles. In the gym, the dodgeball tournament began. The seniors meant business in their coordinated red outfits as they warmed up with bands and weights as if it was the state baseball championship. The Ultras cheered as they unsurprisingly beat the freshmen, leaving juniors and seniors to finish the competition during Friday’s assembly. In the library, a much quieter competition was continuing, and our seniors James Sheuer and Milo Sanokklis took second place* to a group of incredible chess players. For the second to last day of the senior’s very last Spirit Week (sad), the theme is “bikers v. surfers” inspired by the amazing film, Teen Beach Movie. Break will entail a feat of strength streamed to the cafeteria, and after school is cafeteria decorating/the unified basketball game in the gym. Whether you're studded in leather, or have your beach shorts on, tomorrow should be a fun day!

*Eli would like to state that he doesn't want to be "accused of rampant misinformation spread" and we aren't entirely sure.
