“As Co-Presidents of Senate, Abbie and I would love to welcome you to the first semester of the 2024 school year.
The beginning of the year is always an exciting time for students, dotted with plentiful opportunities and filled with memorable events. One such event is Club Fair. All clubs will be recruiting students on September 20 during flextime—let’s see which clubs recruit with the best candy this year! Abbie and I suggest signing up for multiple clubs and finding your niche throughout the year.
“Speaking of throughout the school year, YHS is piloting some new school-wide initiatives, including the cell phone hotel and upcoming computer policy changes. Please note that these initiatives are made with our best interests in mind and input from Student Senate.
“Finally, Senate would like to remind freshmen of their upcoming student leadership elections. We wish to encourage incoming freshmen to participate in student leadership! There will be student representatives in one of your future history classes who will explain the different functions of Class Council and Senate, and the deadlines and process for running. Keep a look out!”
