Knives Out: Glass Onion Movie Review

Knives Out: Glass Onion came out in September of 2022 and has since turned into a blockbuster hit. While not a direct sequel to the original 2019 film, it does continue to follow Benoit Blanc as he solves a new murder. There are so many things to love about this movie between the incredible soundtrack, plot, and acting. The film follows a wealthy man and his friends who he invites to his island in Greece. During the vacation, a murder occurs and world-famous detective Benoit Blanc (played by Daniel Craig) attempts to solve the case. The cast features well-known talent such as Edward Norton as the rich man, Janelle Monet as his ex-partner as well as Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., and Madelyn Cline in supporting roles. It’s enjoyable to be an audience member and try to solve the mystery along with the characters. The ending and multiple twists provide a unique experience not found in other movies. The movie’s soundtrack includes hits like Starman by David Bowie and Under the Bridge by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The set design is beautiful and the glass onion on top of the mansion fits the tone perfectly, especially when accompanied by the eponymous Beatles song during the end credits. The level of attention to detail in this movie is mind-blowing as everything connects at the very end to tie the plot together with a completely unexpected ending. Personally, I think this movie is a must-see, find it on Netflix and definitely give it a watch!
