Saucess

I have tried several teriyaki sauces, and in case you were wondering about them, I’ve compiled a list here for you.

  1. Taste of Inspirations Garlic Ginger Teriyaki

This sauce was good, not very memorable. I found that it was really thick and it clung to the rim of the glass bottle in a way that made the cap stick on. That’s my one complaint. It was good, nothing more, nothing less.

  1. Kevin’s Teriyaki Sauce and Marinade

This sauce was not good at all. It is Keto, meaning very little carbohydrates are present. AKA: not much added sugar. I was kind of excited about this, because one thing that gets on my nerves about teriyaki sauce is how sweet it can get. To my disappointment, the sweet flavor was replaced by a bitterness that overpowered the whole dish that I used it on. It’s probably because of the presence of Stevia and Monk Fruit extract. These ingredients are sweet, but they don’t affect the body quite the same as sugar. The sweetness is also different, and I often really don’t like it. This is why I disliked the sauce. If they had just sacrificed the sweetness altogether, Kevin’s would have been better. To top it all off, the sauce was $5 and wasn’t even a large container. While Kevin’s does taste weird, it’s important to consider that this sauce could be the only option for someone with type II diabetes. I just wish they paid more attention to their flavor.

  1. Kikkoman Teriyaki, Takuma Collection Original

Yes! Yes! Yes! This was a good sauce! Plenty of volume for only $5. Also, the sauce is sweet but balances it with great nuance of flavor. A little dollop of this sauce will send the dish in the right direction. I would rather have this than Kevin’s. In fact, I had this sauce once a day for two weeks straight and only got tired of it in the final 2 days. Warning: It is a strong sauce, so use only a little.

TL;DR: Teriyaki sauce = SO TASTY, however, not always.
