The Freshman are off to Hot Start for their First Spirit Week

The class of 2027 started strong, fearlessly showing off their clipper pride! Most everyone was dressed in YHS signature blue and white, and spirits were high. We got third for most dressed! During the break, we all rushed down to the cafeteria. There was a last-minute decision between Coltrane Vitalius, who had some great face paint (which we weren't sure was allowed), and Emma Garrou, who had a great outfit plus a sparkling blue and white pom pom! We ended up choosing Emma. We got fourth for best dressed. Next, Japhy Deming made a fantastic caricature of Mr. Simms. It was well-drawn and very humorous. However, we ended up getting fourth for caricatures as well. Sheldon Hubbard, Evie Lowell, Agnes Bolese, Levi Sonenberg, Pablo Sonenberg, and Helena Watts participated in Simon Says, competing well with poise and focus. With two competitors in the final four, the freshmen got third place in the Simon Says competition! Will Post-Ruffing competed in the MarioKart competition, playing well in all four rounds. Will, via Waluigi, raced through worlds like Moo Moo Meadows and used all his power-ups. He had an overall stellar performance. In the end, despite Will’s determination and skill, the freshmen scored fourth. The freshmen have also been working hard on painting our mural, planning our caf decorating, and putting together our dance! We’re excited to see what else the class of 2027 can do this week!
