Girls Basketball 2023

Hey YHS! The girl's basketball team had a great season and made it all the way to the quarterfinals before falling to Oceanside, the number one-seeded team. The team got very close over the season and was very sad to share their last season with the seniors Delia Macdonald and Nori Schneider. I talked to Maya Hagerty, one of the captains, “We did such a good job with the challenges that such small numbers brought us. Everyone improved a lot and we grew as a team. Despite the hardships we faced, we managed to make it to the expo and give the number one seed the hardest game of their season. Even though we came short of a win we worked so hard and gave an amazing performance. We’ll be back next year to take home the gold ball!” Girls' basketball teams all over Maine are facing a very hard time with the lack of players. The Yarmouth JV team also missed many games due to the lack of numbers. If anyone is interested in playing basketball don’t be nervous to join next year!
